Inter Arma- Destroyer (2012)

Inter Arma is from Richmond, Virginia playing what Metallum describes as “southern groove”, which I wouldn’t disagree with, mainly because I can’t come up with a better one. Whichever way you want to look at it this is definatly “Southern” (I don’t like the term because it is often used by people who never even been to the South, about music that sounds a bit like that one Lynord Skynard song.) and so I am not a big fan. If you happen to be a fan of “Southern Sludge” then this is right up your alley. But, beware, if you’ve never had sex with a chicken while listening to Sweet Home Alabama, then this might not be your cup of tea.
These guys used to be on Relapse Records but switched to Toxic Asset Records for this latest album. While good, the style of singing detracts from the instrumentals.
